In spring birding becomes superlative with plenty of Great Bustards lekking at Extremadura plus Black-winged Kites, Dupont’s Larks, Sandgrouses, Rollers and a suprinsigly long list of warblers nesting elsewhere. This is also the best time to try Tengmalm’s Owls, Capercaillies, Citril Finches and Rufous-tailed Rock Thrushes up in the Pyrenees.
