Steppe birds & more

Guided Birding in Barcelona. We propose you to explore some of the best steppe lands in Catalonia, hosting some of most healthy populations of Little Bustard in Europe along with resident Stone Curlew, Thekla Lark, Iberian Grey Shrike, Rock Sparrow, Dartford Warbler, Little Owl, Calandra Lark and Black Weathear.

In spring and summer the song of larks & warblers (see below) becomes a commonplace sound and our day list would easily include  Montagu's Harrier, Great Spotted Cuckoo, European Roller, European Bee-eater, Greater Short-toed Lark, Woodchat Shrike, Subalpine, Melodious & Orphean Warblers, Rock Sparrow and Ortolan Bunting. Migratory birds include Red-footed Falcon and Dotterel.

The area is especially noted for raptors, and we have got an average of 10 species of birds of prey in this day trip! Short-toed Snake Eagle, Black Kite, Montagu's Harrier, Honey Buzzard (in migration), Eurasian Griffon, Eurasian Hobby or Booted Eagle are some interesting species that may appear.

We'll also visit  a restored wetland in the middle of the plains: White Stork, Purple Heron, Penduline Tit, Purple Swamphen or Black-winged Stilt are breeding or resident specialties. The migrant species may include passerines, waders and herons.
