Pyrenees in Spring

Guided Birdwatching in Barcelona. A visit to Catalan Pyrenees is an excellent day trip from Barcelona. An impressive carpet of flowers covers Pyrenean alpine grasslands from late July to early September. It is time to admire an endless variety of Orchids, Gentians and Violas in a fresh, pure atmosphere.

This itinerary will allow you to discover some of the wildest areas of the Pyrenees. We will explore the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park, which hosts an impressive variety of both birds and mammals along with awesome views over the mountains around.

Some of the birds to be found here in spring and summer includes: Common Rock Thrush, Citril Finch, Common Crosbill, Water Pipit, Red-billed Chough, Black Woodpecker and Ring Ouzel along with raptors such as Lammegeier, Short-toed Eagle and Golden Eagle.

Pro-hike itinerary: good chance of summer sightings of Alpine Accentor are guaranteed by adding a 90' hike!!
